Notable dates

Data 2018/19 - general waste starts being processed as waste to derived fuel.

Data 2020/21 - figures impacted by the pandemic, staff working from home from March 20. Food waste starts being sent for anaerobic digestion. General waste starts being processed by a Materials Recycling Facility, with further sorting & recyclable materials being extracted and recycled.

Data 2021/22 - figures continue to be affected by on-going pandemic, with staff/students working from home or in hybrid way. Teams returned to office with large scale clear outs.

Data 2022/23 – whilst the overall volume of waste produced reduced, < 24 tonnes, a reduction in recycling rates was noted. This change was due to a reduction in the volume of paper, metal and wood waste recycling which had previously supported the overall recycling rate.
