We have organised a bat walk on Tuesday 21st of May and would love for you to attend.
Please email travel-advice@open.ac.uk if you wish to attend.
We extend our thanks to all who supported our EV roadshow event on April 3rd. The invaluable support from the Go Green team and the OU Club.
Attendees had the chance to experience test drives of electric vehicles, ensure the safety of their charging cables through PAT testing, and explore the benefits of Go Green and OU club merchandise.
Since 1999, the University has had a Travel Plan, which seeks to widen the range of options available to staff to travel to and from work. This has included introducing our car share scheme, improving cycle parking and better bus services to the station.
Student bus tickets for Arriva can be purchased here and are available to those with valid Student ID; they also have a Direct Debit option available
Join us for our EV roadshow event outside Walton Hall from 11-2. We will have Electric Vehicles on site including Tesla and VW amongst others. Test drives will be available on the day (subject to T&C). Free PAT testing for EV leads in Juniper Medlar.
From the Sunday 7th January 2024, the Arriva bus route that comes onto site hourly is being renumbered to X4. And will no longer be number 150.
9/9A is going and being replaced by the hourly 150 which should give a much better service, both in terms of frequency and hours of operation, and also punctuality as we know the current solution has been problematic.
The F70/F77 diverting past the OU once a day in each direction will stay for the moment but will likely end in October as part of wider changes to those services at the Luton/Dunstable end of the route; the link from campus to Leighton Buzzard will continue to be provided by the 150.
Below is the new timetable and a link to the online timetable.
Well done to everyone that participated in our Annual Cycling Event, 484.89 km were logged by the 41 recorded participants (more than last year). Cycling is an excellent way of keeping fit and contributes immensely towards a strong and healthy mind. Cycling also supports a “greener environment” so well done and thank you all participants for giving it a go. Those that have won in the prize draw have been contacted and we hope that you continue to carry on cycling wherever possible.
