MPS Rapid evidence review (Leadership academy) [Ref 3.46]

Academic team: Dr Jennifer Norman (CPRL, OU), Jo Lambert (CPRL, OU), Dr Keely Duddin (CPRL, OU), Helen Glasspoole-Bird (CPRL, OU)
Policing partners: Metropolitan Police Service
Status: In progress

This rapid evidence review aims to identify how large public organisations evaluate leadership and culture change training and to determine which approaches are most feasible for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). Guided by five research questions, the project will map existing evaluation designs across sectors such as policing, military, civil service, health, and corporate settings, explore implementation successes and challenges, and examine outcome measures at individual, team, and organisational levels. It will also assess the credibility of findings to highlight evidence strengths and gaps before synthesising insights into practical evaluation options tailored to MPS’s context and priorities, such as leadership capability, trust, diversity, wellbeing, and operational effectiveness.
