Our research focuses on biosphere-atmosphere interactions and responses to environmental variability and change.

Current research activities include:

  • hyperspectral reflectance and solar induced fluorescence of vegetation;
  • impacts of hydrological variability on calcareous grassland;
  • carbonyl sulphide as a constraint on ecosystem photosynthesis.

We seek to understand how ecosystem function responds to global change through leaf, soil and ecosystem scale studies. Environments of interest include forest, grassland, and polar ecosystems, using field observations and field-based climate-change experiments.
