At least 7 members of the AstrobiologyOU group are attending the 2nd British Planetary Science Conference, held in Oxford between the 13-15th January 2020. This is a three-day event consisting of thematic sessions covering the breadth of planetary research. It will incorporate the UK Planetary Forum’s Early Career Scientist networking event and will also include a community Town Hall event intended to give the community a forum for discussion with representatives of our principal funding agencies STFC and UKSA.
A new project, led by Dr Alessandra Marino, has received a grant with a value of £1.245m from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to trial an integrated governance approach to protect the Moon and its sites of interest. MoonRISE: Re‑Imagining Space Environments brings together a range of scholars from different disciplines to answer a pressing question: how do we safeguard the Moon at a time of intensified exploration?
