Staffordshire research project (commission) [Ref 1.41]

Academic team: Dr Nicky Miller (CPRL), Professor Geoff Berry (Consultant), Dr Sarah Hutton (Department for Policing), Dr Ben Bowles (CPRL)
Policing partners: Staffordshire Police
Status: Complete

The overall purpose of the project is to provide an evidence base which will inform, and challenge, the force's improvement plans. The intent is for the work to take two particular themes - recognition of vulnerability with a specific focus on contact and effective investigations and to provide an assessment of the evidence base for each theme. This will involve a rapid evidence assessment of the published literature relevant to each of the themes together with the identification of best or promising practice elsewhere. The results of this project will be shared with the CPRL membership through workshops and evidence cafes to connect the academic literature with policy and practice on the ground.
