OU collaboration with the Talking Shop

Coffee and biscuits on a table

On 28 February The Open University (OU) in Wales will be co-hosting at the Talking Shop in Blackwood, and want to hear from young people (16-25).

The OU team will be using the space to talk about OpenLearn, the OU’s free online learning platform. There will also be a session on getting young people involved in nature-based activities.

The Talking Shop is based at 8/9 The Market Place in Blackwood and is open Monday-Saturday 10.00am to 5.00pm. It is described as a ‘democratic and cultural information centre’ where ‘ideas, information and conversation are free. And so is the tea.’

OU staff will be on hand all day to discuss routes into studying, and there will be a display of OpenLearn short courses that can help you on the path to your dream job.

Åsa Malmsten, Partnerships Manager

'OU staff will be on hand all day to discuss routes into studying, and there will be a display of OpenLearn short courses that can help you on the path to your dream job,' said Åsa Malmsten, Partnerships Manager at The Open University in Wales. 'We also want to hear from young people in the area – particularly their thoughts on active citizenship, societal change and connecting to nature.

'The event will be a drop-in, so if you’re in Blackwood on Friday 28 Feb, feel free to stop by and get involved in the activities.'
