The Open University has announced a new fully funded Digital Degree Apprenticeship for Wales.
The programme allows apprentices to study for a BSc (Honours), developing expertise in data science, cyber security management or software engineering – all while they earn a salary with their employer.
The new programme replaces the OU in Wales’ groundbreaking Degree Apprenticeship in Applied Software Engineering.
For employers, the Digital Degree Apprenticeship can help upskill existing staff, or bring in new talent to address specific skills gaps. Places on the programme are fully funded by the Welsh Government via Medr.
'This Wales Apprenticeship Week is a great time to remind people of the amazing opportunity an apprenticeship can give,' said Rebecca Falvey, Senior Manager for Skills and Innovation at the OU in Wales. 'You can study for a degree while benefiting from industry experience and a salary. This flexibility is central to our new Digital Degree Apprenticeship, which been designed to reflect an ever-changing industry, and give apprentices the skills they need to upskill as technology changes.'
