We’re the only university in Wales represented on all three Regional Civic Engagement Partnerships. Funded by Medr, these bring together regional universities and colleges with other learning providers and civic institutions to address local challenges.

REACH helps people from five Welsh communities to connect with the history and heritage that matters to them through art and creativity. Wales REACH is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This programme helps college students develop the skills that employers and universities are looking for. It’s a collaboration between the OU and all 12 colleges in Wales.

This is the home of bilingual free learning from the OU in Wales. It includes courses, articles and interactive guides.
We’ve worked with Cardiff and Vale College and the Welsh Refugee Council to find OpenLearn content for ESOL Teaching and Learning.

We’ve developed a collection of free resources to help people think critically and play an active role in Welsh democracy.

In 2025, we worked with Tai Pawb to uncover how decarbonisation technology is affecting tenants in Wales.

We’ve teamed up with Wales’ third sector to develop an eight-week training programme for volunteers.
Through this programme, we give OU students in Wales one-to-one coaching and mentoring to increase their employability.
