Teaching Impact
Findings from our funded projects feed directly into improving our teaching and learning practices. This includes the enhancement of student outcomes, student experience, online teaching and learning, work-based learning and student employability.
Each year we summarise the findings from scholarship and innovation projects and share them with academics from the Faculty. This ensures that our teaching benefits from current, evidenced recommendations on the best ways to improve student success. It also assures the continuous development and enhancement of our modules.
SCiLAB research has:
- Influenced the design of the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University
- Enabled the introduction of a peer mentoring programme across the OU’s Business and Law Schools
- Produced co-tutoring guidance documents now embedded into training on several OU modules
- Influenced the development of a toolkit to support our Law students
- Prompted a transformation of a key OU business module’s assessment strategy and design
- Led to new employability skill activities being incorporated into one of the University’s entrepreneurship modules
- Informed the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship programme’s relaunch plans
