Ageing Well Public Talk Series

The Open University in partnership with The HSC Leadership Centre are delivering a series of online breakfast seminars on the Five Pillars of Ageing well for practitioners, clinicians and other professionals who support ageing populations in their professional roles.  All seminars will be delivered on Microsoft Teams.

The talks will be held by Dr Jitka Vseteckova of The Open University.

I am Senior Lecturer in Health and Social Care in the School of  Health, Wellbeing and Social Care at The Open University.

My work addresses national, regional and local-level health and social care priorities. My research is interdisciplinary and supports service organisation and delivery as well as policy making in health and social care. I have been making a consistent contribution to my home discipline (around ageing & care and caring & physical and mental health and well-being) via research, dissemination of outputs, research-based teaching and substantial public engagement.

My research is oriented in four main directions: a) Health policy and planning: evaluation and improvement of health service delivery; and addressing the future health needs of communities. b) Public health / health of citizens and populations domain: improvement of outcomes for elderly persons & evidence base used for improving patient / student outcomes in health care. c) Education and improvement of skills, specifically, in members of public, practitioners, mental health professionals and carers. d) Development of evidence base in several areas of health and social care, more specifically ageing, dementia, lifelong learning and technology enhanced teaching & learning.
