Totem brought messages of climate change for COP26

Professor of Religious Studies at The Open University (OU), Graham Harvey, with colleagues at Border Crossings brought a totem pole from Mexico to the UK with a powerful message about climate change’s impact on Indigenous people. The 4.5 m high monumental carving is called Totem Latamat, crafted by Indigenous Totonac artist Jun Tiburcio. The colourful artwork was carved from a single tree during a ceremony to thank it for giving its life.
