The catering Hub has partnered with MK Food Bank and have installed a collection basket in the lobby of the Hub. We’re asking everyone to donate non-perishable food items and toiletries to help those in need in our community.
MK Food Bank provides vital short-term crisis support and care for families and individuals in Milton Keynes.
Louisa Hobbs, Operations Manager of Milton Keynes Food Bank thanked The OU Hub in June 2025 for their work:

Why Donate?
MK Food Bank supports families and individuals facing food insecurity. Your donations will directly benefit members of our community, ensuring they have access to nutritious food and basic necessities.
MK Food Bank offers emergency food parcels, bags of long-life food that are designed to create meals for three days; and Top-up Shops for people in financial hardship who need longer term support. Families can buy up to 20 items for £4 and access other types of support and advice as well. MK Food Bank now has seven Top-up shops altogether. This year the shop has been visited over 7,000 times – that’s almost a 200% increase since last year.
Most Needed Items:
• Canned goods (vegetables, fruits, beans, soups)
• Pasta, rice, and grains
• Cereal and oatmeal
• Shelf-stable milk and juice
• Toiletries (toothpaste, soap, shampoo, sanitary products)
• Baby food and nappies
How to Donate:
1. Bring your items: Look for the designated collection basket in the Hub lobby.
2. Drop them off: Place your contributions in the basket.
3. Feel good: Know that you’re making a positive impact in our community.
