This presentation explored both the opportunities and challenges of student collaboration in online distance learning. The research team introduced findings from a recent project with Open University students, highlighting varying preferences and expectations around working together. A creative GenAI-led analysis added further depth to these insights. The session began with an introduction from the team, followed by a presentation on project methodology and findings. Attendees were invited to reflect on how collaboration is framed in their own teaching or research and how these findings might help inform future pedagogical design.
