With the school holidays approaching, Libby makes it easy to keep children and young people reading - and to enjoy stories together over the break and beyond. Whether at home or spending time with younger relatives, OU students and staff have instant access to a wide range of digital titles, from picture books and middle-grade fiction to Young Adult novels, comics and graphic novels.

Libby is a free, user-friendly app from OverDrive, one of the Library’s key digital content providers. Using your OU login, you can borrow digital books, audiobooks, comics and magazines - including dedicated Children and Young Adult collections.

Sharing a book can spark imagination, support literacy and create moments of connection, while offering a calming activity for holidays, travel or rainy afternoons.

How to get started

1. Download the Libby app from your app store (or visit libbyapp.com).
2. Open the app and search for The Open University Library.
3. Sign in using your OU login details.
