Research data are precious and should be archived for the long term to ensure that results can be verified, and data can be re-used in the future.  This webinar looks at good practice for preparing data for deposit in a research data repository or archive.

Session objectives:  

  • Understand why digital preservation is important  
  • Know how to appraise and select research data for preservation  
  • Identify good file formats for preservation  
  • Learn how to select an appropriate licence for your dataset
  • Learn why metadata is an essential part of the archiving process
