Copyright: Using third-party content in your thesis. Part 1 of 2 Webinar (2026.12.03)

This session will provide an overview of copyright and what you need to know to get your thesis copyright ready. The session will look at the copyright basics and help you to understand why permission to use copyrighted content is needed in some cases. In addition, we will discuss the exceptions to this. Ethical and legal issues will also be discussed to help you understand the reasons why you should think about copyright as early as possible during the thesis writing process. Having this copyright knowledge will help you with the publication of your thesis in Open Research Online and provide you with key information to help you with any future publications. 

You will have the opportunity to take on a copyright task to discuss in Part 2 of this series.
