This project was a pilot study to inform the development of a substantive project and external grant application that sought to gather the views of a range of professionals (healthcare, social work, police, border agencies) about the care of unaccompanied minors.
The research team had both formal and informal conversations with two police officers from Missing Persons. One officer from Devon and Cornwall police took part in a formal interview and provided a rich view of the challenges of attempting to find unaccompanied minors who ‘go missing’. There was also a very useful informal telephone conversation with Superintendent Steve Cox from Wiltshire police.
