From Research to Real-World Impact – Embedding Parental Support into Practice: Dr Keeley Dudin and Kendal Wright
In this session, we’ll reflect on how the insights you helped shape from policing—through evidence cafés and research engagement—have moved beyond the page to influence national best practice. Building on our original Maternity and Parental Pathways research, we’ll focus on how the voices of policing professionals contributed directly to the development of co-produced toolkits and resources now being used across the UK, including in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions.
We’ll share how research and practitioner expertise came together to inform practical solutions, explore how these are being implemented across sectors, and discuss what comes next — including opportunities for continued collaboration and feedback. This session is about the real-world journey from insight to influence, and how together we’re building more inclusive, supportive pathways for working parents.
Landscape review of policing online harms: Giles Herdale, Director of Herdale Digital Consulting
As the Government pledges to halve VAWG in ten years—and with online harms now recognised as a national policing threat—this high-level review explores how policing is responding to the evolving landscape of tech-enabled and online abuse against women and girls.
The review explores:
· How technology is reshaping VAWG offending
· How policing is currently responding
· Where good practice exists
· The critical gaps that must be addressed
