2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the Centre for Policing Research and Learning at the Open University. To mark this important milestone we are delighted to invite you to attend the CPRL 10th Anniversary conference, Retention & Prevention: Challenges and New Opportunities for Policing Futures .
The conference take place at the Open University’s campus in Walton Hall, Milton Keynes on Wednesday 13th November and Thursday 14th November 2024.
The Conference title Retention & Prevention: Challenges & New Opportunities for Policing Futures reflects the themes that will be covered over the two-day event .
Dr Steven Chase, CPRL’s first Police Chair, will also be remembered on Wednesday 13th November with Professor Jean Hartley delivering the second Steven Chase Memorial Lecture.
This will be followed by a wine reception during which the Steven Chase Prize for Research will be awarded.

Our new Professor of Policing and Research, whose role includes becoming Academic Director of our Centre for Policing Research and Learning (CPRL), is Clifford Stott MBE.
As the Centre’s lead, a significant part of his role will be working with academics across and beyond the Faculty, as well as CPRL’s police force partners, to generate research and learning relevant to theory, policy and practice.
