Abstract:
A brief overview will be given of how students’ statistical written
communication skills are developed on M248.
In M208 we have introduced TMA questions that ask students to locate errors
in mathematical arguments. Our experiences with these so
far will be reported on in this seminar.
The MST210 modelling activity is a student activity where students build a
mathematical model in small groups and then write individual modelling
reports. We will describe the activity and try to answer the following
questions. How is it currently run? How do the students interact? How has
it changed in the first six presentations? Why has it changed?
