Abstract: Outreach and public engagement are important to raise awareness and public opinion of mathematics, and to encourage people to study the subject. In this session maths communicator Katie Steckles will share her experience of working in a variety of outreach roles, discuss the skills a good communicator needs to develop, and provide some top tips to improve your engagement.
