The Open University in Scotland is delighted to support Lone Wolf: Jo Nesbo at Bloody Scotland 2025, with Crime in the Spotlight budding author, Heather Darwent, introduced by Open University in Scotland Director, Martin Boyle.

Being either a professional footballer, rock star or stockbroker might be ambition enough for most people, but not for Jo Nesbo. Despite landing all three dream careers, he managed to then excel at another, becoming one of the world’s best and bestselling crime writers.

His books have sold over 50 million copies worldwide and been translated into over 50 languages as he led the Nordic Noir takeover with novels such as The Bat, The Snowman, and The Leopard.

His latest book, the pulsating Wolf Hour, tells of a serial killer desperate to be caught and for his story to be told.

Heather Darwent will be appearing with her book A Sharp Scratch before this talk as part of OU supported Crime in the Spotlight.

Tickets are £12 (£11 concession), available from the Bloody Scotland website.

You can try Creative Writing course content for free, on the OU site OpenLearn, such as Start writing fiction

The OU offers modules in Creative Writing and Advanced Creative Writing, a BA (Honours) English Literature and Creative Writing, and an MA in Creative Writing.
