The Open University is delighted to be hosting a range of activities as part of the Glasgow Science Festival 2025. 

Find the Glasgow Science Festival and The Open University in the centre hall of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, with loads of free activities linked to the collections and the theme, Glasgow Celebrates. 

Discover if you are a super taster, create LEGO aliens and solve maths puzzles. Learn how to collect space rocks and become a chemist and discover the colours hidden in inks.  

All of these events are free, and no booking is required. There is more information about all of these on the Glasgow Science Festival website, or you can click on the individual event links below. 

Interactive events at Kelvingrove:
Saturday 7 June 1.30-4.30pm, Sunday 8 June 12.00-3.00pm

Beyond the Kelvingrove:
Monday 9 June 7.00-9.00pm

  • Conviction or Acquittal: The Science of Jury Decision Making - Have you ever wanted to be on a jury? At this event, you will get the opportunity to do just that! Watch a trial, be the jury and reach a verdict. Book your place for this free event through the Glasgow Science Festival website. Due to the subject matter, this event is not suitable for under-18s.

Science on the Sofa:
Saturday 1 to Sunday 30 June: 

  • We also have content in the Glasgow Science Festival's Science on the Sofa programme - a range of activities, talks, and experiments you can participate in all from the comfort of your own sofa! The free online programme will be available 1-30 June for you to browse at your leisure.
