Established in 2010, eSTEeM is one of four faculty-based Scholarship and Innovation Centres at the OU. Our purpose is to promote and empower practitioner-led, evidence-informed scholarship in open and distance STEM education. Our aim is to deliver excellence for our own students and contribute to the further development of STEM pedagogy within higher education through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). eSTEeM routinely supports projects led by members of the faculty to investigate teaching and learning in STEM.

Whether you are completely new to the STEM Faculty or have always just wanted to know a little bit more about what eSTEeM does, this session is for you. We will –

  • Provide an overview of eSTEeM and what is meant by the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)
  • Explain the importance of SoTL and how to successfully conduct a scholarship project
  • Talk you through how you can get involved in a scholarship project and highlight the professional development it brings.

This session is open to all members of the OU STEM Faculty and will take place on Thursday 27th October, 14.00-15.30. To book your place, please visit My Learning Centre by Friday 21st October.
