Scientific notation

By incorporating OpenMark's 'editadvancedfield' component it is possible to enter responses in scientific notation e.g. 1.234×105.

Points to note

  • the multiplication symbol can be x, X, * or ×
  • 'E' format (1.234e5) is also supported
  • the formulae are created with a small subset of Tex or by MathML
