Explore LGBTQ+ histories, voices and stories with the Library

This LGBT+ History Month, we’re highlighting stories, histories and voices from across LGBTQ+ communities through two growing Library collections.

Our LGBTQ+ Library Resource List brings together materials exploring LGBTQ+ history and activism, alongside works by LGBTQ+ authors, artists and creators. It’s a starting point for learning more about key moments, influential figures and diverse lived experiences across communities.

You can also explore a wide range of LGBTQIA+ titles in our Diversity, Equality & Inclusion collection on Libby - the Library’s free, easy-to-use app for borrowing e-books, audiobooks and magazines. From fiction and memoir to social commentary and cultural studies, the collection offers inclusive stories and perspectives you can read or listen to on your phone, tablet or computer, wherever you are. New to Libby? Take a look at the Getting Started Guide or get in touch with our Library Helpdesk.

Both collections are continually growing, and we welcome your suggestions for books, authors or resources you’d like to see included. Your recommendations help us build and enrich the collections together.
