Abstract: This workshop aims to bring together academics and practitioners who have extended experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating programmes aimed at alleviating poverty by empowering women and girls in developing contexts. It aims to reflect on the challenges of targeting women and girls as sole agents of change, and to make recommendations at a theoretical, practical and a methodological level on how women’s chances of success can be improved, and chances of rupture can be mitigated.
