In the Psychology of Health and Wellbeing (PHeW) research group, we take a theoretically diverse, creative and practice-orientated approach to thinking about health, mental health and wellbeing. Our work is often collaborative, working in partnership with service users, service providers, community organizations, regulatory bodies, charities and more. Many of us are interested in bringing critical, theoretically rich lenses to understanding health, mental health and wellbeing as practices, concepts and lived experiences. Methodologically diverse, we are a lively and curious group working on a varied array of projects – providing a rich environment for us to learn from each other.
The PHeW leads are Dr Laura McGrath and Dr Felicitas Rost. Please get in touch if you're interested in our work, collaborations or events.
We welcome approaches from potential PhD students. PHeW is part of the Grand Union Doctoral Training Partnership, which provides funded PhD places. Find out more here: Grand Union Doctoral Training Partnership.
