PubhD: Can you explain your PhD in the pub?

15th January 2018 — admin

Hi All,

PubhDMK needs one more speaker for the 24 January event: could you explain your research to a pub audience in exchange for a drink? This is a great opportunity to practice explaining your research in an accessible, engaging way!

Details below:

"A new event is starting at the OU and we need you!

PubhD is an informal, fun event for researchers to share their work. The format is simple:
At each event, three PhD students (or any researcher!), from any academic discipline, explain their work to an audience in a pub in exchange for a pint or two. The talks are 10 minutes long, at a “pub level” – the idea is that you don’t have to be an academic to understand the talks.

PubhD will be held monthly, and will begin at Juniper, The Hub, on the Milton Keynes campus.

We need 3 speakers in order for the first event to run - please sign up here if you're interested: https://goo.gl/forms/G3uUTxW9xDNgtpKC3"
