Graduate Director’s reaction to PRES 2017 results

We are pleased that the PRES 2017 results place the OU amongst the top 25% institutions in the UK and overall 87% of our research students are satisfied with their degree. This is ahead of the university sector as a whole. Notable highlights are that our students feel they receive good supervision and they are in a good research environment. This reflected in that 84% of our students said they were confident of finishing on time. We will be ensuring that good supervisors are recognised.

We have areas we do need to improve on and still have much to do to ensure our research students get access to the teaching opportunities they would like. The research culture also need to be encouraged and we will continue to promote and celebrate the success or our research students

If you have any reactions or ideas around this, please feel free to reply to this post or email me at [email protected].

Best wishes
