Understanding your digital skills and capabilities

Our ways of working have changed over the last few years, and we’ve adapted and developed our digital skills and capabilities out of necessity. But how confident are we, really?

Last autumn, the Library and People Services invited colleagues to use the Jisc Discovery Tool to assess their digital capabilities and identify areas for improvement. We ran over 30 virtual sessions that introduced almost 350 OU professionals to the tool, and feedback proved overwhelmingly positive.

We’re in the process of arranging more of these sessions, but in the meantime, why not complete the self-assessment at your own pace?

• You will gain a clear understanding of your digital strengths and areas for improvement.
• It will help you to develop skills and boost your professional growth by focusing on the digital capabilities you need for your role. 
• Participants’ anonymised, aggregated responses will help the OU understand the essential skills development and training needed in this area. The more of us that complete the assessment the better informed we will be!
