New SUP titles explore music, feminism and Scotland

Two book covers on display on tablet computers

The Scottish Universities Press (SUP) has reached an exciting milestone, with its fifth and sixth titles now published.

The fifth SUP title, Beyond the state: Music in the rural creative economy by Simon McKerrell of Glasgow Caledonian University, was published in August. The book is available to download from the SUP website or to purchase as a print-on-demand edition.

The sixth title, Building a feminist nation: Scotland in the era of polycrisis, was published on 27 August. Edited by Helen O’Shea, Senior Lecturer in History at The Open University in Scotland, this is the first SUP book edited by an OU academic, making it a significant achievement for both SUP and the University.

The Open University is a member of the Scottish Universities Press, and OU colleagues can take advantage of reduced rates when publishing with SUP. For more information, visit the SUP website or contact Richard Nurse, the OU’s SUP representative, at [email protected].
