New collection of legacy research papers on ORO

To coincide with World Digital Preservation Day on 2nd November 2023, the Open University Library announce a new collection of Legacy Research Papers on ORO. In partnership with the University Archive and academic colleagues at the University, ORO now holds papers published by:

These papers have been:

  • digitised from paper, or
  • collected from shared drives across the University, or
  • harvested from deprecated or current websites.

They have been collected to:

  • preserve the rich research culture at the Open University.
  • increase the discoverability of otherwise hard to find research papers.
  • establish ORO as the platform for OU published research outputs.

We hope this is just the start in preserving the rich collections of research papers published by research groups at The Open University. Moreover, the architecture has been built to enable active research groups to disseminate their self-published research outputs – let’s make the most of our research and our repositories!
