Four new asynchronous courses on writing for The Conversation

The Open University is a member of The Conversation who recently sent us this email:

"The Conversation is the world's leading publisher of research-based news and analysis, a unique collaboration between academics and journalists. As a member, academics from your university can access our free training, which can equip academics with the skills and techniques needed to share their knowledge outside the academy.

In addition to the four live training sessions we provide free as part of membership, we have launched four new asynchronous courses:

  • The Conversation: Who we are and how we work with academics
  • How to write for The Conversation
  • How to pitch to The Conversation
  • Writing for Insights

PhD candidates, researchers and academics at your university can now access our training at a time that best suits them.

The courses aim to help academics understand how we work, the support we provide and to build the skills to write for non-academic audiences.

They are being mapped to Vitae’s researcher development framework and can contribute to the professional development of academics of all levels, while supporting them as they take their first (or second) steps towards engaging with the media.

You can ... explore the courses here."
