Calling all PGRs: Take a break… Recommend a book!

All work and no play? Not on our watch.

We know PGR life can be full-on - reading, writing, deadlines, repeat. But reading doesn’t only have to be for research. Taking time to read for pleasure can be a genuine reset, spark creativity, and give your brain a break from the academic grind.

That’s why we’re growing a Reading for Pleasure collection in the Library building… and we’re inviting PGRs first to shape it!

We want your recommendations for the books you love, such as:

📖 Fiction

📖 Non-fiction

📖 Poetry

📖 Graphic novels

📖 Comfort reads, favourites, or hidden gems

The aim? To make the Library not just a place for serious study, but somewhere you can also pause, switch off, and enjoy a good book.

We’ll be buying titles in based on your suggestions - so this is your chance to help create a collection that reflects you and your fellow researchers.

Submit your recommendations via our online form by the end of February.
