On July 2nd 2019 Physical Sciences at The Open University hosted the 'Schools’ Physicist of the Year' event. It was a highly successful and enjoyable evening, with the Berrill Lecture Theatre nearly full of the Year 10 award winners, their teachers and parents from 27 schools across the region. The students heard from Dr Callum MacCormick speaking about Quantum Computing and former SPS researcher, now Public Engagement Officer, Dr Natalie Starkey speaking on 'How to get into space'. Many thanks to all who helped with the organisation and on the night, but especially to Alice Dunford, Ogden Outreach Officer within SPS, for organising it, and to the Ogden Trust for funding the event.
