Abstract
Spanning a career of more than 45 years this talk will look at some of the detector systems and their applications that the speaker has been involved in - from cosmic ray astronomy, to medical imaging, to tissue analysis and security. The talk will outline the problems to be solved, describe how the detector systems were developed to approach these problems and discuss some of the results. The links between these apparently diverse application areas will be discussed and some new areas of activity outlined.
