Centre for Scholarship and Innovation
22nd January 2014
With student retention rising rapidly to the top of the agenda as a "must address” issue, eSTEeM designed and organised a workshop on the topic for Maths, Computing and Technology (MCT) Faculty academic staff.
More than 50 participants gathered on the 17th January to hear presentations from Peter Taylor on university initiatives and Frances Chetwynd, Jon Rosewell, Soraya Kouadri and Paul Piwek on the contributions their eSTEeM projects are making to innovation in assessment and our understanding of student responses. To broaden our horizons David Brannan’s presentation gave some pointer as to what we could learn from Khan Academy tools for monitoring student progress and learning.
Submissions from OU colleagues are invited for eSTEeM's second conference proceedings publication.
