Join OUTrips on a return trip to the Award Winning Warner Brothers Studios for The Making of Harry Potter tour.

The Harry Potter film series made Leavesden its home for more than ten years. As the books were still being released while the films were being made, the production crew saved many of the iconic sets, props and costumes that were created especially for the films – just in case they were ever needed later on in the series.

Once filming wrapped on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in 2010, the production crew were left with a treasure trove of thousands of intricate and beautifully-made artefacts, many of which wouldn’t have been saved on a typical production.

The team behind Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter wanted to preserve and showcase these iconic props, costumes and sets so that Harry Potter fans could experience the magic of filmmaking first-hand. Many of the original cast and crew returned to reassemble the sets and record their memories from filming, and on 31st March 2012, the Studio Tour opened its doors.

Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone (special events to follow!) in June or see the beloved Hogwarts in the Snow feature will return for the festive season. The spectacular Great Hall will be transformed into scenes from the Yule Ball as seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The Gryffindor common room, Forbidden Forest and Diagon Alley will be dressed for Christmas and the Hogwarts castle model will be coated in snow using the same technique used in the Harry Potter film series.

Ominous Dementors will be floating in the Forbidden Forest which will move towards visitors passing through the area. In addition to this, the clown Boggart will also be on display next to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. If you wish to avoid either of these elements on your tour, please speak to a team member who will be happy to show you an alternative route.

Set adjacent to the working film studios where all eight Harry Potter films were made, the Studio Tour offers visitors the unique opportunity to explore two soundstages and a backlot filled with original sets, animatronic creatures and breathtaking special effects.

Price for entry into the Studios tour at 11.00 and coach transport

  • £60 Adult
  • £50 Child (under 16)
  • Infant under 4 requires a ticket but is free.
  • Family rate (2 adults and 2 children) - £185

Coach to the Harry Potter studios is included in above price

  • Sunday 28th June 2026 - Leave the OU approx 09 45 TBC and travel by coach to Warner Bros Studios in Leavesdon
  • Enter into the studio tour at 11.00
  • Depart to return to OU at 16.30 approx.

Places available

40 places maximum - we have two different trips planned.  One in June 2026 and a 2nd in December 2026.

Booking Deadline

21st April 2026 for June or when places sell out  - due to the nature of the Harry Potter tickets we need to purchase them in advance as soon you book, so if you need to cancel you are responsible for finding a new person to attend.
