The Open University has been awarded nearly £700,000 by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) to lead an East Africa-India-UK research collaboration to improve access to cancer care in East Africa.

The 2018 Outstanding Contribution to Research at The Open University Award was presented to Professor Giles Mohan, OU Chair of International Development, for research which spans 25 years and focuses on African development.
