Impact Clinic: Developing Pathways to Impact

A recent exercise to identify impact needs among IDII-SRA researchers revealed that developing good pathways to impact is a key requirement for those working on bids. In response to this, and to other needs identified by the exercise, IDII will run a series of impact clinics to:

• consult one another on impact requirements for specific projects
• diagnose potential strengths and weaknesses in proposed impact strategies
• jointly prescribe or explore tools and approaches for generating, sustaining, documenting and disseminating impact. 

The first clinic will focus on Developing Pathways to Impact and take the following format:

• two or three researchers make five-minute presentations on their current proposals and ideas on pathways to impact
• audience (who haven't previously seen the proposals) respond with quick comments and suggestions
• panel (one member from RAS and two from IDII, all of whom have seen the proposals in detail), share their opinions
• presenters sum up what they can take forward
• IDII impact team conclude with date and focus of next clinic.

Proposals for the first clinic are from Dr Alex Borda-Rodriguez & Dr Philipp Horn (FASS-DPP) and Dr Sandip Hazareesingh (FASS-History).
