Medieval and Early Modern Research Group

Welcome to the Open University’s Medieval and Early Modern Research Group. This group brings together staff from disciplines across the Arts and Humanities at The Open University, including Art History, Classical Studies, English, History and Music.

We have wide-ranging expertise in social, political, religious and cultural developments of the medieval and early modern periods. Our interests have a broad geographical scope and engage with diverse historical communities and cultures.

The group fosters a supportive environment in which staff and students can develop, exchange and collaborate in their research. Meetings are held every month to discuss readings relevant to the group’s interests or papers presented by group members.

Please contact us if you are interested in the group’s activities or would like to enquire about MPhil or PhD studies with us.
